h my car won't start!
Its getting power and everything the engine cranks over and just doesn't start as if its not getting fuel. This happened the other day, the NRMA came out and gave me more fuel (Even though I was certain that there was enough in there). Still wouldn't start, apparently flooded. So what the dude did (or at least what I think he did) was disconnect three injectors and then by pumping the accelator and cranking it he was able to get it started then he connected the three injectors again and it went up to proper engine speed. i was able to drive home, but on the way home the car would just die, both at the lights and also while driving meaning i had to start it in neutral doing 70 in heavy traffic! it started each time, but with a lot of coercion from the accelator. anyway yesterday same thing happened, so i did what the NRMA bloke did, disconnected the injectors and started it, connected them back up. I wasn't going far (work is just up the road - hadnt had a chance to take it somewhere to be looked at as well). then yesterday after work I started it, reversed out, travelled maybe five metres and shit itself - haven't been able to start since even with what i did before. Called NRMA again, they hit the fuel tank and stuff - they reckon its the fuel pump because they can't hear it going when trying to start the car.
I can hear an electrical crackling sound from the engine around where the injectors are (possibly) which i've never heard before and only noticed the first time the car stopped. They didn't seem to be fussed about it. Is this normal?
Also after trying to crank the car you can smell alot of fuel which to me sounds like its getting somewhere but nothing happening. The first NRMA bloke reckoned there was a puddle of petrol on the road after i was able to drive off and it looked last night like it was leaking something but today i didn't notice anything.
I'm not a mechanic though and they are, so they are probably right, and I can probably fit a new fuel pump myself with a bit of stuffing around but I just want a second opinion before I go mucking around with it. Thanks, any help would be appreciated. (sorry to write a book, i talk to much )

crank angle sensor has died dude!
It still could be the crank angle sensor.
Take about 2L of water with you next time you drive the car, and when it fails pull over and pour the water over the crank angle sensor. (Its just behind the harmonic balancer (big pulley off the crank) on the passenger side.) This should cool it down.
If it fires up just about instantly, then I would say its the cas. If it doesnt... maybe its the fuel pump.
Hope this is of help!
