are you suuuuure its IRS? converting a live axle commodore to IRS is a big job, especially on a ute.

nah its almosy 100% impossible to have irs on a VG/VP/VR/VS ute..... never seen it done and it would need extensive bodywork to make fit and work....

if its a solid beam axle which im positive it is, then you will have no problem passing a RWC

    Get some pics mate.

A VL was the first commodore with IRS. VQ was next, then VP Calais/SSs.

    The first wagon/ute was VT/U

Thats not to say someone hasn't modified it, but as has already been said, its a huge task to mod it, and i'm not sure it would be worth it with the troubles Holden have had with their IRS setups.

Sorry was a brain fart on my behalf thought it was irs ( I must have been thinking of the bottom of my VY as I have had them both on hoists recentley) .....
On a better note I now have a rwc and the shudder in the car was due to a bent transmission mount

Some of the VL HDT directors had IRS i reckon thats an engineering marvel from brocky and the boys, and holden pretty much copied it for the vq onwards.

I believe of 7 that were built the first 4 had irs (numbers i read somewhere) but no-one has heard from these cars for quite some time except for the red one. I just checked the hdt dvd and there was an ice green one with irs that was unveiled to the public in 1987 and caused the fight, its on the dvd as well they put it on the hoist. bloody nice cars
