can anybody tell me if an ss s/bar is different to a s pack s/bar or is their one that is thickest from other models that will fit
Check out nolathane's online catalogue. If the bushes are the same part number then they are obviously the same diameter.
ha ha i was thinking they would have been the same, if not smaller in the exceutive...lol
It's true. A softer front swaybar will reduce understeer. Unless you have massive oversteer issues during cornering, there's no reason to reduce relative front-side roll even moreLeave that job to some stiffer springs front AND back.
I have my Statesman set up with medium/progressive springs in the front, and hard/linear springs in the back - currently no change to swaybars - and at the limit in a corner under throttle, it will hold steady on turn-in, and tend to oversteer on exit. Before this, with equal spring rates in the front and back, it was understeer and more understeer at all times.
So I would advise against beefing up front-end swaybars, unless you're planning on throwing something significantly bigger in the back
The worst possible scenario, if you have a front swaybar that is much too stiff, and have a soft rear swaybar, is that your car will lift a front wheel in hard corneringAnd nobody wants that ^_^ But there's no chance of this happening with the use of only factory-spec parts

from factory cars are generally set up for understeer as it's safer. recovering from understeer normally only requires reducing speed which is everybodies first reaction when they don't understand what is happening. recovering from oversteer can be a lot more difficult for a inexperienced driver.
sway bars should be the last part that is play'd with get the springs/shock and bushes sorted first and then use the sway bars to get the final ballance

Had a VR with a 30mm sway bar on the front from whiteline, it was great, but yea a bit to much to just drive round normally, but to play with was great fun, oversteer galore. match that with no bar on the back and your in for a fun/dangerous time.
You should remove the rear bar AND shocks. Then you can really pimp it to work.![]()
