i hooked my turbo timer up to the speedo wire behind the dash (white and violet or sumthing like that)
it works fine and its all working but now the dash is beeping at me like crazy, it randomely will go off like the low fuel warning buzzer.
what the hell is wrong with it????
tim
how come you didn't just hook it upto the ignition or is it one of those flash ones which extra stuff
quick question is this car N/A or turbo? :P
working on the turbo part but im building up the suport systems.
the timer does have extra features aka a speedo.
thats why i hooked it up, as i put a new steering wheel on it and it covers the speedo from 60 to 180. so i kind of need it. its just starting to get annoying with the constant beep its more like the handbrake is pulled up warning sound.
IMO - turbo timers are for wankers
you honestly don't need one or want one. building up a support system would be
exhaust (cat back one), bigger injectors, fuel pump, 2 bar map sensor, built transmission, lsd, rising rate fuel reg, boost gauge, tune, regap plugs, relocate coil packs etc....remove huge thermo fan to make room for turbos
please tell me you'll have a base tune before you even switch it on! and you are booked in for dyno time, after going through this once before, spend a bit more, get it on the rollers with a sniffer in the tail pipe and get the AFR's good and the sparks down on boost so that you dont break your motor... get it tuned once, and get it tuned right imo..
plus as for turbo times theory they pump oil/water through the turbo after the absolute thrashing you just gave it before you decided to park it... and if you've still got a licence chances are you wont ever have the turbo glowing right before you park it :P
i dont use the count down feature on it thats just a waste of fuel i got it on so i can actually see the speedo, as the timer has the feature of a digital speedo.
then theres all the other things the timer can do, but im not hear for that im hear to find out why the dash is beeping at me after it was installed.
