short travel shocks

r the shocks shorter themselves,or r they the same length as standed with just a shorter travel inside the standed length strut tube,i am fitting shorter travel shocks to my old vn and just wondering if i will need a spacer in the strut tube if they r actually shorter

they are shorter well mine were, but the bottom half seems to be the same length anyway so no need for spacers.

hartsc is correct the bottm half on front inserts are the same length as its needed for the nut that need to hold them inside the strut. rear ones may be shorter overall

rear ones are shorter overall, but it doesn't matter, just means it doesn't hang as much when you jack it up, i.e. springs don't fall out
