Default VN Stoping and running rough

I have a 88" VN. last month or sometimes would just stop while i am driving completely die nothing. also the ECU wiring that runs throught the fire wall on the passenger side has been attacked by previous owner and has just grazed the cover off of 4wires i have wrapped the wires singlely and im pretty sure that it is not the problem.

ok here is what the car does...
if i drive the car calm it will run fine and have a 5% chance of stopping or running rough.
but on the other hand if u give it to her she will run fine then after a lil while when i go to stop at either lights on a corner, like completely stop she will either shut down without notice or running rought (anywhere from 300 to 600RPM) then if u give her some fuel she dies. then wont start again for a while. its like she has to sit for about 5-10mins to reset or something before you can start her.
im going to get some new spark plugs and maybe some leads tomorrow to see if that changes anything..

does anyone have any idea's of what could be causing the problem??

The CAS, coils & DFI are the main culprits for stalling and running badly.

The CAS is the cheapest thing to chage. Sometimes you can swap a coil/DFI unit with a mate to see if that is the problem.

Other times it can be the ECU. Are you getting any error codes out of the computer?

Plugs wont change the stalling. Coils & DFI S/H from the wreckers will set you back about $90 and take about 30 mins to fit tops.

just jumped on this thread and was about to tell you ive had the same problem previously and it was becuase the fuel pump was getting blocked partially. Mainly did it when it was udner 1/4 tank full. if i went uphill for a period of time or repetatively went around a roundabout it wud stall and id kick the accelerator, and it wud push thru then slowly die etc. Only cure was to let it sit for a few mins, and try and start again once the fuel tank had settled. GET YOUR TANK CLEANED OUT SO ALL THE CRAP DOESNT BLOCK YOUR FLITER. Its the main reason its happening

    wow i feel kinda useful

no probs man, first day on forums and im showin some love haha its a pity the vn petrol tanks dont have a tank plug so you can empty out the fuel easily, only real way is to disconnect the fuel pump then unbolt the tank and tip it out
