Can someone tell me the the fuel pump pressure and also the working pressures for injectors.
thanks
Fuel pressure for VP V6 is 320kPa (gauge pressure) above the fuel pressure regulator reference pressure, which is intake manifold pressure.
i.e. open to the atmosphere, engine off, a fuel pressure gauge will usually read 320kPa (but possibly 320kPa + 101.7kPa = ~422kPa if the gauge measures absolute pressure i.e. relative to a perfect vacuum - 0kPa - instead of atmospheric pressure).
With the engine idling and having -66.7kPa (gauge pressure) manifold pressure (= 66.7kPa vacuum or 35.3kPa absolute pressure), fuel pressure will be 320kPa - 66.7kPa = ~253kPa.
The fuel pressure, i.e. the working pressure of the injectors, will vary under load, from below that 253kPa idling value, while coasting in gear down hill or from speed, to very nearly the full 320kPa at wide open throttle. It will always maintain a 320kPa pressure difference between the fuel pressure and manifold pressure though.
