Hey Guys,
I know its a bit of an ask, but would anyone be able to post up / give me the link to a thread/ site explaining in steps and pictures how to dismantle a V6 3.8L Buick Engine? Im extremely eager to learn how to myself and so very jealous of those alredy in the Know-How:
All help very muchso appreciated, Cheers.

its realatively easy once u have it out
drain the oil and drain the rest of the coolant by undoing the lil plugs under the manifold.
get it on the engine stand and work your way from the top to make it less top heavy, remove the intake manifold then the heads .
flip her over and remove the sump
then remove the timing cover
then back to the crank
remove the hydraulic lifters before you flip her otherwise they will go everywhere
the pistons slide out the top of the block so as u unbolt the caps push the piston through and keep the bearing caps to the original conrod and mark the pistons from what bore they came out of.
take your time and get an ellerys book got lots of info. once its all apart get yaself sum measuring tools bore gauge, micrometers verniers etc. ive built two now but that was when i had access to full facilities like massive robo wash, and an acid tank u could dip ya whole car into
My biggest tip is be prepared to make mistakes.
Ideally, you should be practicing on a junker engine first.
the main socket/spanner youll need to use is a 13mm, just about every nut n bolt is a 13
get a gregories manual and then start unbolting things. when you get stuck, consult the book. best way to learn. when stripping a wiring loom get some masking tape, as you remove plugs/wires put a piece of masking tape on it and write on the tape what it goes to.

If only it were that simple.
How do you know how tight something should be if you've never done it before? How do you know how much force to exert? I know i'd rather find out on something that won't render my car f*cked if I screwed something up.
I was simply offering my advice on what and how I've learned things, after all, it wouldn't be a forum if I couldn't do that.
follow a manual and youll be alright mate. unless you have experience, you cant help but need a manual
best thing I did was find a good engine builder who is willing to give heaps of advice.....and always ask around the place about the engine builder, there are good ones and then there are idiots......I'm doing a fair bit meself on my engine rebuild, but there are somethings, like measurements and balancing, that I'll be getting him to do.....u can read a manual, u can look at the pictures, but u can't ask it questions.
Invest in a torque wrench, and a gregorys/hayes manual and follow the torque settings on every single nut and bolt when assembling, not too hard to pull down, you'll need a few specialized tools to get it back together, e.g piston ring compressor, rod bolt caps, assembly lube.....
13MM socket and a rattle gun. Keep it on reverse untill you run out of bolts and you are there
