Ok everyone, heres the deal...

Just about to drop the motor in my VQ but am replacing one of the p/s lines as it was terribly kinked and i assume restricting the flow of fluid.

Just to let you know, my VQ was a series 2, final update model and featured ABS along with speed sensitive p/s. I have been through my mechanic and holden and finally got hold of the replacement part however have run into a bit of a problem.

Here's some pictures for reference...

As you can see the original line has been pretty badly kinked in an attempt to gain clearance and meet the p/s reservoir.

As you can see here, this is the way the line was run prior to removal of the engine, hence the kink in the line to allow clearance of the k-frame.

The problem i have run into as you can probably see is that the new line i have will not connect to the rack and run on the top side of the k-frame unless the line is kinked, it will however run under the k-frame.

Since it was running above when i removed it i'm now not sure where it should be running at all, if it runs below i dont think that it will have enough reach to connect to the p/s reservoir however it wont run above unless i was to bend it (which is obviously what has been done previously). I also am unsure where the mounting bracket attached to the line bolts to as the existing line didn't have the mounting bracket attached.

The part i got hold of was by use of my VIN (myself and my mechanic tried to get hold of an aftermarket line, however out of about 8 or 9 that were sent out, none of them were accomodating to the ABS unit) therefore it should be the correct part, however at the moment i fail to see how it fits.

If anyone could point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Matt.
