    Default vp lexcen indicator conversion

how would i go about putting me indicators from the vp lexcen up into my parkers like on a vp commodore? is it even possible?

the previous owner of the car put a nasty looking bullbar on the front without the stock bumper because apparently when the car crashed the frontend wasn't repairable, so why not just shove a bullbar on and cut out holes for where the indicators are meant to sit? good job

ive had a look around, and the closest thing i've found at the wreckers is a VN Lexcen, and i'm at the stage now where im thinkin bugger it, ill throw the indicators up in the parkers and shove on a vp bumper which should be much easier to get my hands on..

....or there is always that bloke down the road who owns a vp lexcen, maybe i could borrow his

any help would be greatly appreciated

You can change the headlights and indicators to the nice VP Commodore shape if you like. You'll need both front quarter guards, indicators and headlights, and it should all bolt on to your Lexcen You can change to a VP front bumper and grille too, while you're at it.

I think I have the right idea here, anyway Pictures would be good ^_^

Are any of the globes a different size? and I would have thought the front guards would have been the same

To change the front end, you will need:
    1) VP quarter panels
    2) VP Headlights and indicators, plus grille
    3) VP front bumper (and reo if thats mangled as well)

You could use VN parts, if you so wished.

And the wiring will be slightly different. Not hard to fix with a test probe and an extra loom from a VN/VP

Only problems i can see are if the reinforcement under the bullbar is all twisted. Can you get the bullbar off and post some pics??

yeh i can get the bullbarr off easily so i'll get some pics tomorrow when i have time.
Rang up the wreckers and he has a reasonably straight (according to him)VP in stock, and hell sell the quarter panels for 50 bucks each, headlights for 45 each and the indicators for 15 each. All of his bumpers are mangled though or he doesnt have any in stock, so thats a bummer..

im taking it getting the lexcen grill wouldn't fit in with the usual commodore headlights etc.. ?

It'll fit, just it will look stupid. VP lexens don't have the best looking grille

I got some photos, but the lighting is crap. it was at about 7 at night, so I didn't think it would be that bad but it would just be useless.
I attached a VN bumper to the front with abit of handyman work and thats on temp until i get the spare cash to get the VP headlights etc etc

Go the VN front, It'll look better..... Don't let Morton tell you how good the front bar of a VP is.
What colour is your car by the way??

it looks sexy with your fantastic handyman work matt

you should start a my ride thread once you get the front conversion underway so anyone else wanting to do it has somewhere to go to see how its done.

ps. stockies, the car is white.

^^^ cool I was going to say, go with the panel parts that are the same colour as the car. Since it's white tho, getting new front panels will be easy.
