vn trouble shoot

Gday guys
im having problems with my vn i started noticing problems when i put the foot down you could hear the engine reving but there wasnt any power going to the wheels and just today the car decided to quit on me anyway the engine turns over and the you can hear the fuel pump priming when you turn the key but the car wont start has it got something to do with the coil pack or the crank sensor

1st problem) auto or manual?
2nd problem) check for spark at the leads, check for fuel pressure at the engine and pulse through the engine.

Once you've established whether it's lacking fuel or spark, then you can continue

and the car is a auto but the only problem is im getting fuel at the injectors

Put in a fresh battery and see if it starts, if it does the CAS is stuffed, if it doesnt then it could be a combination of things, such as a worn starter, a dying gearbox etc

Certainly sounds like the gearbox is on the way out. Do you have spark?

no i dont i disconnected the leads from the sparky and it theres no spark also how much would it cost to get a gearbox overhauled or would it be cheaper to buy a new one
