    Default VP Lexcen Light Problems

    Hi Guys,

Newbie here, i friend just gave me a car for free and it's a VP Lexcen as far as i can tell, the problem is it is a bit of a bomb. I'm on top of most of the work it needs but i has a wierd problem with the headlights and tail lights/brake lights coming on whenever the brake is pressed.

This happens at all times, even when the car is off and the key is not in the ignition.

Does anyone have any ideas of what the issue may be?

I've checked the fuses and they're all fine.

    Cheers,

    Voney

Youve got power crossed with the brakes and headlights. When the brakes switch is activated - foot on brakes the power should only go to the tail lights. Your brake lights are live all the time in so far as car ignition on or off.

You will need to get a wiring diagram and follow the wires as best as you can - look for a place where the loom may have been hacked at. Most probably under the dash cluster/fuse block.

What bulbs should be in there? Currently it has those dual filament style ones for basically all the lights back there (i had to replace a few but the same style were already in there...)
