prob a dumb ass question but when unplugging the ecu for a peak at the memcal does it change any settings?? i unplugged mine today to give numbers to c.o.m.e. and it seems to be idling lower now and not running as well. is this all in my head or have i done something???

It won't affect anything apart from the idle. Disconnect the battery again for 10 seconds, start the car and rev to 2000rpm for 10 seconds.

You don't even have to do that, although that will force a relearn of the idle speed valve motor position. Just drive the car. Disconnecting the ECM from power clears all the learned settings in the ECM but it will easily relearn them. Only 5-10 mins driving is needed for most of them.

10 seconds of revving is still quicker than 5-10 mins of driving.
