    Default Clutch

About half hour ago i was on highway on way home from work. I over took a pulsar in 3rd gear doing about 4500-5000rpm and when i hit 4th, it didnt grip, it was as if i was in neutral. I managed to limp it home (about 15km away) By the time i got in drive way It was slipping so much i had to rev it heaps just to get up the gutter.

Anyways i need my car for work so i have to fix it asap, Where could i buy a clutch from and how much are they worth? Are they hard to replace? and tips? cheers

clutch i would guess in the $200-$500 range depending on quality.
    Most auto parts shops.
get a clutch aligner tool to line it all up.
jack the car up real high and put on stands.
if you can borrow a transmission jack it will make the job so much easier.
replace spigot bearing aswell so it does not fail in a couple weeks.
if you can't get a transmission jack then con a mate into coming around when you start reassembly to help lift it.

I recon i can do it myself. I dont have a trans stand or anythin but managed to convince a few mates to come over and help. They agreed as long as i supplied the beer. Just need to no where to buy the clutch from. What about repco or autopro? I need it for saturday because thats when i want to fit it. What does a kit come with? I only need a basic kit to last a year or so because my car has over 300 000km on it and is getting bit tired so im gonna save for a new car. But till then i need my car going so i can get to work

After a case of beer, and a lot of swear words, i finally managed to put new clutch in. I ended up buying a exedy clutch from auto pro. Does anyone know if there an alright clutch? It seems to be alright.

Altho haydz one **** itself already but something had to be wrong with that one or how it was installed.

for cheap arse fixes on a car you are getting rid of you can also try the wreakers for a clutch plate but then if your pressure plate is warped which can happen when slipping it will be no good.
Years ago i got a plate for a old corona for $10 and ran it for a couple years till i sold it and had no hassel.
