Looking for a nice cheap s2 onwards coil pack for the VN as I'm currently running on Paul's (Zuicider) spare one..
I've been hunting on ebay to no avail... til Paul found an Ecotec one nice and cheap. Are they a direct swap?

I dont think you can.
VN-VP coil packs are squarer than the VS-VT ect...
I read somewhere that they wern't interchangable because of the ecu program they ran on.
But I could be wrong as i never tried it when i had the VN
Coil pack's should be the same vn s2 - vy as far as im aware, just the DFI module im not sure about.
you CAN use an ecotec coil packs..u need to use the dfi module from the same motor also..
i have done this to my vn, and it mader a difference to the runnin effects...much better spark..
if u use the ecotec coils and dfi, use the injectors also. runs heaps better..
Won't be changing injectors.. not without a chat with my tuner anyway..
So you need the DFI module as well.. never done one of those, which part is it?? (Don't even know what it is haha)

dfi module is the flat metalplate the coilpacks sit on - should have a long wiring harness going into one end of it
Yep ecotec coils packs and dfi will work fine just remember when you go to take the wiring plug off the dfi that there isd a bolt that holds it in

You need the adaptor plate to fit the DFI & seperate coil pack setup on the VN. I know this, I have done this.
ok can u explain it bit better and were can i get one wat does it do
I see the adapter plates on ebay time to time.
i need series one
it will still fit.
I run a VR coil pack on my VN. So it should be all good
yea i reckon i might just get a s2 one... still running on Zuicider's spare one![]()

If you want to use 3 Individual coils instead of the 3in1 Setup found in the original VN's, you can. You will have to make sure that you have an adaptor plate (metal plate) that allows you to use (physically fit) the 3 individual coil packs and DFI module to suit in a Series 1/2 VN. Without it, the DFI module (electronic part under coils) will not fit. You need to fit the adaptor plate first, than the DFI module that came with the 3 individual coils, than the coils. The bracket is shaped different to original and has special bolts that come with it.
I have a couple of these spare, but like others have said, you could probably find some on ebay or buy new.
You can change the Series 1 Coil Pack to anything up to a VX, I just changed my VN Series 1 coilpack to a VX Coil pack with you just need the full coil pack eg. The base and the top, all you need to do is when you unplug the coil pack is check the colour of the insert and get one the same colour and then its a direct swap over. I found it to give me alot more power in my engine aswell. Cheers

Picked up a s2 coil pack from a mate a few days ago.. I'll just leave it at that. Got another mate with a set of MSD ones I might offer him some cash for if I feel like it, until then, nothing fancy just an s2 set will do fine.
