ok coming home from work today...
i left work did a lil tyre spin got onto the hwy and gund it to 100 however the cars temp gauge started creeping up to bout a quarter away from over heating and when i took my foot off it went down when i guned it at lights it did the same thing...maybe cause of the traffic but im not sure it also is a very hot day in perth
but when i got about 10mins from my house it stayed half way or just under
anyone got any ideas on what the problem is?
mate put a thermostate in it,sounds like it starting to stick
Thermostat's an easy jobprobably not a bad idea if the car hasn't had one for a while
WTB: mulberry VN interior parts
hmm, maybe there's something wrong with your speed sensor wire then. i've heard it connects somewhere to the transmission, waiting for someone to verify this and expand!
I had just bought my VN and drove it 800kms home the next day.. Lapped it round town a lil to show her off and to show the boys. but in no time at all the temp guage had moved from cold (yes, i thought something was up) to a quarter off hot, like yours.
Thought it was a couple of things. moved it from a cold place to a hot place. it was used to get to work and back where i'd drive it 50-100kms in one night. ALSO. The water that was keeping it cool looked like river water =(
Had a new thermostat put in + 50/50 coolent mix. hasn't gone over halfway since.
But with that. The service light continue's to show (engine with ! mark in the middle of it) even though i got it serviced at the same time.. Maybe someone else could help me with that
