I wanna swap my brand new windscreen from my vp to my vn is it possible without breaking it and what type of glue do the windscreen places use to hold them in?
The best method I found for taking windscreen's out is try and poke a small steel rod through with some fishing line attached, them pull back and forth on the fishing line until you have gone right round the window then get you and one of your mates to sit in the drivers and passengers seat with your feet up over the dash on the windscreen as even as you can with all 4 feet (yours and your mates) while someone on the outside to stop it popping out really quickly and smashing. its not easy but if your careful and apply even pressure it does work.
Hope that made sense, as for the glue if you goto your local auto store they'll have something to help you, there are many many products that do the same job.
ive always used guitar strings to saw through the urethane in the same manner as hartsc said but once youve got all the way around the screen should lift out with no force needed providing youve cut around all the way
you should be able to peel the old rubber out without breaking it and then re use it and one tube of stikaflex polyurethane is all you need to glue it back in just make sure both the glass and the frame are both clean first
im not admiring your car im looking in disgust
sikaflex is the glue of choice
hmm make suree ya keep a good grip on that windscreen - had mine taken out (all in one piece) only for one fella to drop it after it came out the car and put a massive crack in it - grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr had to be replaced 240 for a newie
yea sorta hit and miss with swapping screens .. tryed a couple of times and broken a windscreen a few times lol
