yes i know there will be some guys here thinking this guy must to dumb....but know i just like to get a second opinion.....
anyway here the thing my 304 is running weird when you floor it. it will kick back to 2 second and it feels like it's not get enough fuel/or timing is out for a bit (holding back) then comes back and takes off like a pullet
how long since ya last service - spark plugs , leads , airfilter etc .... ive just had massive problems with mine and had an awesome mechanic give me heaps of advice -plus 1 dodgy spark plug was giving me heaps of grief
yeh definitely do them - just today i did spark plugs, leads, air filter , oxy sensor (which was at fault).
car runs god as new - i did oxy sensor first and it was still playing up so ended up doin the rest of the list - and now runs strong as
Did you do the dizzy cap/rotor button. The 304has a faily slow take off on the standard tune, that's just how it is untill about 3000 rpm. Get a set of bosch leads too. The black ones with yellow writing
Have you adjusted your Kickdown cable on the throttle body, I remember my 304 VP did the same thing when I was playing around with it, kickdown cable unadjusted made car shift to 2nd really quickly and feel sluggish, but it wasn't just the auto.
also check the base timing of the dizzy if you have access to a timing light. should be 10 degrees BTDC.

10 degrees BDTC is a little much, isn't it?
On the monaro, we've always set it to 6 degrees BDTC.
[QUOTE=twinturbo5l;953082]i didn't think the kickdown cable was adjustable
Yea there is a small black holder on top of the throttle body with a button in it, hold the cable tight don't let it go once you push the button then either go forward or back one click at a time. I'm sure someone here will have a picture of it.
