I recently purchased a set of Interceptors 15x6 and put them on my VP, I've noticed there is a gap between the side of the wheel arches and the wheel itself, what's my best bet to bring the wheel closer to the side of the car?
Cheers
15x7's? lol what are they wrapped with? 185's, 205's?
spacers r illegal but if u use them make sure u go the safe way and lengthen ur studs. 4 some reason the calais and statos rears seem 2 b set in closer 2 the inner guard then others? well mines the same as urs on the rear neways but i got spacers.
Check out my ride in progress.... 98 VT V6, V8 Supercar kittedDaily toy.... 92 VP Calais 5L

Grab some 215s up the front, and 225s up the back. That filled my guards up
And yes, Calais and Statos have more 'inset' wheels at the back, I'm fairly sure this is a characteristic of IRS![]()

Yes the VP and VQ IRS cars like your Calais run a fairly intense narrow track on the rear of the car. This can be fixed with VR?/S IRS hubs, then you will have the normal Commodore rear track and can use standard mags (anything standard offset 8 inch+ will rub on the inside on a VP/Q)
Alright thanks everyone.
I'll check out the VR/VS hubs when I have the money.
The VR/VS rear is wider but leaves the front the same (as non-IRS VL-VP), so you end up running around with a narrow track front with the wider rear. That might be acceptable if the only aim in fitting the wheels is cosmetic though.
Finding the correct offset rims would be the best fix. The most common offset for IRS VP/VQ is 26mm positive (vs the standard 43P for most and 37P ute).
I have seen wreckers trying to sell the IRS offset rims without distinction between them and other steel 15"ers. I have also seen them asking a premium for them because they can be hard to find. You just have to keep looking for them.
