i'm really not sure. i think they are BW diffs but not sure on the specs. i know the hubs have a different stud pattern because then the inlaws tried to fit the wheels from there crashed BT1 onto the 4cyl VN they didn't fit properly. i too would like to know what ratio they have because i'm looking for some gears for a future project

They are 4.11's, same as a pintara.

yea im talkin abowt the nz spec 4 cyl vn, my one has an opel motor in it, and the stud pattern and spacing is the same as the v6 diff cause im using the wheels off the 4 cyl on my v6 now.
i dont realy want to change diff over and it just ****s itself straght away.

me too. the inlaws have one. we put a wheel from the 4 banger on the BT1 to move the wreck but it didn't fit (without a little filing) they don't want me to pull it apart to find out the ratio however.

if you can tell me what RPM your at 100km/h in 4th gear i should be able to calculate the ratio. it doesn't really matter what speed as long as it's in 4th gear as it's normally 1:1

Not 100% sure as I don't know alot about diffs, but I've heard that the NZ 4 cyl commodore is a 4.11 but 2 pinion (if that makes sense to anyone)

could be, the standard BW 78 is a 4 pinion setup. they used 2 pinion centers in the VL 6's so it could have been carried over from there and just a ratio change for the crappy 4 banger engine. i wonder what ratio diffs the 2ltr 6 cyl VL's have?

doing the tune is simple (and cheap) pm me. do you have a O2 sensor hooked up? with the SV tune you will need to run 95ron fuel

another way to check the ratio in the 2ltr diff is to remove the diff cover and see what numbers are stamped on the outer circumference of the crown wheel. should have serial number and ratio. what code is stamped on the build plate for the diff?

no point getting a tune to suit a O2 sensor until you fit one. will improve economy. the tune itself will give so more go go go. let us know when your set. where abouts are you?

yep, will run fine because the temp setting in the standard tune for the O2 sensor is set high to the ecu deosn't use it and the fault codes have been disabled for it also.
