    Default engine weights

i'm thinking about getting an engine crane for xmas so i can do some stuff i've never got around to, but i figured i might as well get one that can to stuff down the track if i want an engine conversion.

can anyone tell me what sort of lifting capacity i'd need for a assembled buick engine with and without box, and the same for the 304?

Well, I don't know about weights, but when we did our engine change, we had the gearbox on the motor and use a 500kg block and tackle and it lifted it with ease.

haha dont make my mistake will ya, dont buy this big arsed crane that u cant fit under the kframe when it has weight on it. my crane u struggle to lift with 2 burly blokes, can lift 1250 at short length . which i think is crap because its bloody massive compared to small ones with the same rating

    A V6 is 190-200kg, Holden V8 220-230kg, 4L60X 70-80kg, T5, 50-60kg, give or take depending on what's attached and fluids held.
