Been talking with my mate and we been thinking on some idea's to try and get better performance out off the old SS.
Here's the link to whats been done so far.

Depends whether you want to do a lot of little things, or just hit it with a supercharger, or smash a manifold and a cam in there.
Things like lightweight BMW mags and a lighter flywheel will reduce rotating mass. Removing aircon will save a lot of weight up front, and so will removing all the sound deadening in the car. You'd be shocked how much of that stuff there is in there.
Some adjustable strut tops, a strut brace, slightly thicker swaybars and stiffer rubbers would perk up the handing a lot. If you could get some sort of brace made up to support the rear shock tops that would aid chassis rigidity too.
But you know mate, it's a manual V8 VN... and frankly that's already AWESOME. So you can't really hope for too much more ^_^

nah im not a millionaire as of yet...so nothing as of superchargers or anything, and def not gonna be removing air con or anything like that. Didnt have air con on last car so i love having it now
just along the lines of stuff like plugs/leads..as well as other stuff along them lines as well.
but yeah manual vn ss ..she is pretty killa![]()

bolt a bigger exhaust on and a CAI and slap in a foam tune and you'll be laughing...
i picked up a second down the quarter from just that...
best part is, the tune is dirt cheap, buy one off foamie so he can buy some seeds and grow some shrubs to eat...
this was mine before it became deceased, it was cammed, tuned, cai, 2.5" single zorst (auto, and had sfa power below 2500rpm.. needed stallie)

ok what i learnt from my track runs,
i did a run with zorst on, ran a 15.3 (45deg day)
removed headlight and opened airbox up,ran a 15.12
dropped the exhaust and ran a 14.86
so thats .3 of a second from dropping the exhaust, from a 2.5", i picked up mph and got a lower time on EVERY SINGLE TRAP, it wasnt sluggish and imo aslong as the headers have a bit of back pressure its all good, if i were you id stick a 3.5" on with decent mufflers OR twin 2.5" with x pipe (the cross pipe promotes scavenging which can add up 13rwkw if done right)
unless you want to open it up (remove the banana's)
i recommend talk to foam and get him to do a custom tune
do the exhaust
cold air intake
corvette servo in the trans
theres stuff in the tune such as temp retard, which is VERY aggressive, if the temp gets too high it will pull timing to reduce the chance of detonation, as holden wanted these motors not to blow up and also not ping on cheap fuel they pulled heaps of timing (probbly more than is nessecary) this map can be altered to reduce power loss, also the timing map on the stockers is just plain retarded... i fitted a stock tune once to get some comparison and it was the most boring experiance of my life :P
anything else will start to cost big bucks for good gains
