Hi everyone,
Ive got my car heater not throwing out heat and im curious as to what could be the cause? I have a series 1 (90 model) engine.
I had my thermostat changed by a mechanic 2 weeks ago (which made my heater work and my temperature gauge sit on a 1/4...so normal operating temp).
Since then I had my LPG converter replaced (due to muck being found within the diaphram...thus leaving to loss of power on gas).
Then today I found some coolant leaking from two pipes connected to a little black module (sorry, i dont know what the name is) which is located opposite the coolant resevoir. I then tightened them up which has now stopped them from leaking.
Yet now my damn heater doesn't work!Id greatly appreciate any suggestions. Thanks heaps in advance
That black module sounds like the heater tap. Maybe you knocked the vacuum hose off it when you were tightening the hoses, or the tap is stuffed.

I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
Thanks heaps for your response, accentstencil.
Im glad i now know what the part is. The heater tap it is.
The vacuum hose is still connected and it seems that i still have coolant running out of the hoses and even so, just last night (after a long drive) my heater decided to work again. Damn attention seeking car lol
Im hoping to replace the heater tap...do you know how much itd cost and it seems easy enough for me to replace it myself but is there anything i should be aware of?
Thanks heaps
Brendan
