Default Anyone - Vr Parcel shelf into a VP

    Hey all

MY sub broke my window tail light, was thinkin about puttin a VR one in there as they look better with the brake light hidden slightly under the shelf.

Has anyone actually tried to put one in there VN/VP b4.

Many complications in doin this, looks like it would all fit right.

    Thanks for input

yeah i got one cheap, im sure the under shelf is the same, only difference is the speakers are in a different posy so i will have to put in a plate to mount them on.

Im just not sure if the mount for the brake light will be there for the new light as VP's have a plate on the top of the shelf to bolt the brake light to, where as VR the light bolts ono the plate then teh shelf goes over the top of it.

Should get a retractable 3point belt like VR's have soo there isnt a big hole where the belt would have run normally.

Im sure i saw in my ride sumone with one but looked around today n couldnt find it anywhere.

With the extra hole just patch it up and recarpet it, would look good after that.

It fits, but it's about an inch too short. Get the VR brake light and bracket as well. jam the bracket over the metal like how the VR is done. Or glue to parcel shelf. Then all other clips line up and go in.

Also the brake light globe holder won't fit into the VR light. Not without a bit of force anyway...

yea i grabbed the globe holder 2 just have to solder it in.

Spose ill just rip it out see how she sits in there, i just hate hte vp brake light, keep braking there mounts...damm vibrations...

Figured it wouldn't be too hard to do just have to pull it out n see.

Stockies, what bracket are u referring 2, the one that the light bolts to?? being too short. if it is ill just make a slight extension bracket for it

Thanks for all the input, any more hints would be good too

    cheers

The whole parcel shelf is about an inch too short. leaves a gap between the shelf and window. If the windows are tinted tho, you won't notice.

Well turned out to be a inch too short....

Also the brank light holder was the same, soo the globes fitted in the light, but not the shelf.

Goin to get sum ply n extend it a lil coz hte VR one look alot better in there, light all nice n hidden nicer carpet just gotta work out what im goin to do with the speakers not being bolted down to the metal shelf, i dont want to get that wicked shelf rattle, but ill work sumfink out sum nice reinforcing under it all.

Mite jsut cut the vr shelfs front off n glue it to my shelf so it sits right. I duno yet gotta do sum thinkin what i should do.

    Cheers for everyones input.

Probly not because there are no mounts to put it on, soo more stuffin around for just a seat belt, and ive always got my middle pulled down n with a 3point belt there i cant just reach back n pull it down easily, i would have to move it to a side, soo nah not goin to bother with it.

I have no idea. But my original VP one was broken, so i picked up a VS one for $5 and it slotted in. But, it has a plastic edged hole in it, which was for the middle seat belt in the VS's. Slotted and clipped in perfect.

hmm sounds the same as mine, but mine is a bit short.

Thinkin glueing it to my shelf thats already in there is goin to be the easiest way to get it in
