    Default vn overheating question

hey guys, im looking at getting a vn on the weekend pretty cheap, but it overheats when your not moving anywhere, the owner went and put a new thermostat in and flushed the system but still same problem, do you think it might have something to do with the heater tap maybe? or do u think it might have something to do with the radiator? i am leaning more towards buying a new radiator as that what it sounds like to me, but before i go do that i just want to know your opinions on what it could possable be.

    thanxs

how can u tell if its water pump? do u look for the leakage through that hole on it? also are they just as easy to change as the vr waterpump? or is it harder

hmmm thanks for that if i buy it i might change the waterpump first to a new one, they reasonable cheap and then that will hopefully fix the problem or eliminate the waterpump ha ha thanks, would that explain the getting hot when in slow traffic and idle and cools down to normal when going at speed..
    thankyou for the help

when you go to look at it.. start the car up let it run, you said it gets hot pretty quick.. you might see if theres waterleaks on my old mans vs it use to heat up around in 30mins then leak water, i open the bonnet take a look at the radiator while it was running it was cracked, but before that i changed the thermoe, waterpump to figure it coz the crack on the radiator was hidden, well anyways goodluck finding the problem it wont be something major unless its the welsh plugs like on my vn haha the worse thing ever

hey guys, i looked at the car and it appears to be the waterpump i think, it has white dots all around it like it has leaked, that would explain why it overheats at idle and in heavy traffic, thanxs for your help guys, i will be buying it tomorrow and doing the waterpump, will let you know if it fixes the problem or not, cheers
