Default Goodbye to the Vn - Ive had enough

Yep Im going get rid of it...

The car needs the following work needed but still runs good..

this is what needs fixing ... disc rotors (getting wheel shakes when they heat up and look rooted), Air compressors leaking Green oil ( already had it replaced in last year), power steering rack leaking ( has so for 10 years) , rear main seal very slight drip leaking ( has so for 12 years) , engine mounts cracked and rooted , transmission rear seals leaking , diff has little play in it , timing cover has faint leak ( has so for 10 years) , inlet manifold needs replacing ( its original ), Odometer stopped ticking over.

I dont want to go into what I have had fixed but the only thing I know thats good is the body , suspension + bearing tower plates), engine , transmission , electrical system , interior, paint work.

The Car does go good but Im looking at throwing atleast $2000-$2500 to fix all that & Im not.

The only thing going for it is the low k's and the fact it does still go hard etc.

Anyway ... thanks to everyone that gave me advice on the car and have a merry xmas and happy new year...

That's a shame! It wouldn't cost that much if you did it yourself

So what will become of the old VN now?

my mums car ... I hardly drive it and most km's it get a week would be around 30 as its not driven much this is why the low km's.I wont be buying a fuel injected car so forget upgrading, motorbike or a really old commodore.

1 lady owner and cars been treated like a baby since bought for $26000 in 1990 brand new... no burnouts or drag racing or anything stupids been done to the car as I did that to my mates car

If I was a mechanic or had a mate who could fix it all for me for cheap then I would keep it but not worth it .. all cars get problems that need fixing eventually but cars dont hold their value which is the main problem. I might try talk my mate into selling me his torana as they are bullet proof and hes rebuilt it from ground up and those things are like tonka toys they cant be killed and dont give u much trouble & he has a few 6's and 8's but i go the 6 for sure.

any offers ? I have all receipts ..... I live in sydney

I would prefer to sell it to someone who can turn it into a beast and look after it.

    Hey mate..

If your running gear is in top cond as you say it is, your better off wrecking the car for parts than selling it for 2 grand max privately....
