    Default Air con problems

changed the little (bird cage),and re-gased.
Heres the problem, the fan works on 1,2,3,4 but its seems to be stuck blowing air on feet and it wont change to window or anything, really driving me nuts since the car wont pass a Blue slip without it fixed , any thoughts or opions would really help
    cheers

Maybe the linking cable behind the control mechanism has snapped or come loose you will just have to pull the control panel out and check, but i think it may be the rod that controls the plastic insides. Pull it out and have a look.

if your feeet are gettn wet it;ll be your heater core munted - pain in the ring to change to its a whole dash out jobby and then hvac box out and apart which is a nightmare on its own then u will have to get your aircon regassed again...

should replace ya heater core and the aircon bit there at same time

The aircon drain hose comes out above the transmission on the passenger side. They clog up and occaisionally need to be unblocked.

Yup, passenger side up against the firewall. You should also investigate just how the water is getting over your side of the dash

Just as accentstencil said ,but be very careful if you poke anything into the drain because the heatercore usualy lives above it

just above our left foot reat on the drivers side is a small white plastic lever. the rod is supposed to be attached to it but the clip can and does break. this moves the vents around to so check it first, you can see it without and tools.
the clip is still available for a cople bucks from holden.

That clip you refer to only controls hot and cold, I think He may have a vac line off, there about 6 that go onto the rear of the rectanglur looking thing with your hot cold and foot face etc dials on it, then they split of.

Can you hear a sucking sound when the car is turned on ? or can you hear a sucking sound when you go to select a setting ie feet or face ?

If you can hear the sucking sound constantly a vac line is loose, If you cant hear it when you change setting's a vac line may be kinked somewhere etc, its sounds like a pull it to bits and sus it out job.

My money's on the main vac line from the engine bay has been squashed somewhere along the way.
