i know theres heaps of threads on this topic but the all end up in replace coil or ignition module ive all ready done that
its just winding over with no spark from the leads or coil do you think it could be the dizzy and do you have to take the inlet manifold and **** off to replace it or just a real tight squeeze
also i got a code 14 showing up when i do the diagnostics test but could it be causing those symptoms
any info will be much appreciated
cheers
check efi fuse/relay
wiring for coil
is the fuel pump cutting in at all?
hall effect sensor could be the problem

and how would i go about doing that such an easy job just the location of the thing a
the coil is the first thing in line so if your not getting spark from the coil lead then you;ll have to find out why
either the coil is faulty or perhaps the wires going to the coil are not on properly or damaged. other than that check your fuses both in the car and in the engine bay i think by memory there is a fuse in the car that stops ya from going too - its in the middle number 11 or something like that -
yeah the auto electrician at holden said you changed ya coil ignition module so change ya dizzy coz it could be the hall effect sensor and if its not that theres a short somewhere and if it is i got no idea where to start?
If it's the hall effect sensor, it's easier to replace the whole dizzy. They're a bitch to get apart.
If it's the hall effect sensor, the fuel pump will still prime, but you won't get an injector pulse when cranking. If the hall effect sensor isn't talking to the ign module, you won't get spark or fuel injection.

Stick a 12v parker globe into the plug for one, then crank the car and see if it flashes![]()

Try crank angle sensor
Hall effect sensor, is the crank angle sensor on a V8......... if its dead it wont start as the ecu has no idea where the pistons are etc.
Correct, but possibly a month too late![]()

HELP US!!! We have a 91 VN which is annoying us to no end. got a tow on tues after it wouldnt start...engine wouldnt kick over. we swapped the relay switches around and it seemed to fix the problem until thurs when I had to get it towed again!! (lucky my hubby and I work for a towing company or it could be expensive) the fuel pump wasnt priming so hubby put in new pump(oh the joy of listening to him winge and moan about that!!) yesterday and it still wont kick over..however now the pump is priming.. he got cranky with it so left it till tomorrow to look at again. could there be a problem with the lines or should we be looking at the coil for our next joyous job??
cheers
