ok so im toying with the idea of a new motor, ive got a couple options floating around atm
1st: normal ecotec conversion (series 1 vs motor)
2nd: standard eco with a getrag box
3rd: fav atm, supa 6 with either my T5 or a getrag behind it and change the pulley to put out about 14psi
4th: 5L conversion with a new T5 to suit the v8
if anyone has any info preferably the 3rd option that would be great, also open to suggestions and critisism
yeh im realy leaning towards the supa 6, just need find out if my t5 will bolt up to it aswell
V8.
lol
Thought about an LS1?
I guess depending on where you are, age etc...you have to think about (conversion engineering approval!) rego, insurance and running costs....THEN think about what you want to do with it in the future. If you are planning on going balls-out with it, then I highly recommend you investigate the LS1.
Stock for stock, in the same body, a super6 will be quicker than a 5L. Nothing beats the sound of a 5L, NOTHING!

It's like having a cat and saying....
"Ohhhh.....I wish it would bark like my mates staffy....."
Simple. Feed your cat to the staffy and get one yourself.

go for supercharged to many people are doing 5ltr conversions :P
yeh thats why i was going to do the super 6 but ive changed my mind with the help of stealthy and im gonna drop a cammed 5L in, allready had the 5L sourced for a few weeks, not just need to find lumpy cam, intake manifold, sump, k-frame and T5 to suit with tail shaft and 3in exhaust
Stock for stock there's little if any difference between the motors and with 10 psi on the super 6 and an exhaust and tune on the 5 litre theres still almost no difference, perhaps the super 6 a tenth of a second quicker. But since you wont have to change gearboxes with the super 6 that might be your cheapest option. I'd choose the 5 litre only because it's a higher quality item
Oh, i was comparing my stock 5L, vs a Super6 VN Calais (so both should weigh about the same).
And yes, i showed my my burnout vid. No V6 can sound like that.

They produce similar torque, so you should be worried with either conversion.

For the cost of rebuilding the T5, it'd probably be cheaper to go with a T56.
Think a gearset was $3000 on its own. PPG might make one now which would be cheaper.
