COMMODORE VR VS LOWERED SHOCK PACKAGE .NEW - eBay Shocks, Struts, Suspension, Steering, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 26-Dec-08 10:11:15 AEDST)
I personally think its worth it, others may not. Personally i find the front to soft and rolls alot as standard. If you put in short shocks then you will need lowered springs too, which you can go a little lower without sacrificing practicality. The shocks alone wont make it handle alot better, its the springs that will make it.
When you do it you will probably need new strut top bearing plates and you might see a few bushes under there you can do while your at it

Getting a shorter front strut and shock will be better in the long run. You'll see longer shock life, and better handling. You can just fit a shorter spring, but it may hang loose at full extension.

Yup. VR/VS struts are completely different from VN/VP struts.

vn/p have a "strut insert", other wise known as a shock, this is slid into the original strut body. vr/s have a sealed strut body, with the shock as part of it.
