    Unhappy heating issues

im having trouble keeping my vq caprice cool in this hot weather.
i was thinking of removing fan and installing thermos but looking through
others threads its a 50/50 choice to keep clutch fan or go to thermos.
If i do go thermos what is better single or double, i was thinking double
with one hooked up to thermosat switch to kick in when reaches certain temp and other hooked up to switch in the car that i can switch off and on when needed is this a good idea or wire both together???
please help as im pulling my hair out... even tho i have none lol

if you do go for thermo's the au thermo's work the best cos they are twin and got a shroud, dont bother going for single as it is a waste of money and doesn't do anything unless it has a shroud.

also get your memcal tuned to be able to turn the thermo's on/off as thats what i have done and it works great, also ive tried the thermo switches b4 and they do work but the problem i had with it is i couldn't get rid of the slow leak from the probe going into the radiator hose

cheers for reply have you wired both to kick in at the same time and did you have to upgrade alternator cause mine laggs with a lot of accessarys on unless it needs the brushes replaced

i have the au twin thermos and never looked back - for whatever reason my v8 used to get close to overheat all the time - had new radiator and fll system flush etc.. could never work it out - anyway - now she sits below half all the time never goes close to getting to half

yeh both fans turn on at the same time and i have no troubles with voltage, and yes just put spacers behind the bolts.

my temp now barely gets over 1/4 b4 the fans turn on + im using a 180 thermostat

they will work for a v6 as all you got to do is put them in and connect them up like your original ones, theres just no point in the v6 tho cos the thermo's they come out with are more than good enough
