Default would running water cause heating issue?

hey guys, well i have brought a s1 vn commodore s pack, and it had a heating issue, so i repleaced the waterpump, water inlet manifold gasket, bypass hose, and now all the leaks have stopped but i put water in insted of coolent so i could make sure, it had been running fine on and off, then today it is kinda warm here and it went to 3/4 mark and stayed there, do you think it would heat up like that coz its only running water and not coolent? ill go out and but some techaoly (sp) xtra cool coolent, but just hoping that might be the only issue with it getting to 3/4 and staying there

    thanks

Was that just sitting there or whilst moving?

Is there pressure in your radiator?

    Is your radiator blocked?

It's not the fact that you're only running water, we only ever run water, and never have a heating problem.

People are too obsessed with how much "power" their car makes....it doesn't make power, it produces torque, from which this mythical "power" figure is calculated.

    yeah things to check
    fans working
radiator blockage ( possible coolant helps with rust build up to)
    thermostat
    another leak
    faulty radiator cap

My first check would be to see if you have a blocked radiator or not.

yeah you can buy stuff to flush the radiator. get the corosive one that you only leave in a lttle while and enough for 2 or 3 flushes.
or if you are realy keen then you can take a side tank off and blast it out with a pressure cleaner.
