Door Pods Questions

hey first questions, how are the door pods fitted onto the door trims

and also what is the biggest size speakers you can fit in them

you have to take door card off and screw from the inside, it depend what size you get as to what speaker fits most common is 6 inch i think they go up to 6x9 take in account when fitting you can close the door and it does not hit window winder. hope this helps

Stock VR/VS pods are mounted to the door trim from behind. Then a seperate part is mounted to the door metal, which holds the speaker. These hold a 6" speaker, or a 6.5" with some cutting.

Aftermarket ones are screwed onto the door skin, and can be as big as you can find.

ive got 6.5 inch splits in my pods but i used mdf spacers to mount the speaker, not the factory speaker cage.

i used the vs pods on my vh sle and used 3 bits of 16mm mdf to space the speakers away from door and i was able to just get 5x7" alpine splits in there..

also screwed from the inside of the door trim and there are also 3 screws that go underneath into the door metal..
