Post Issues with Fan Speed controls on VN

Ever since I purchased my Commodore a few years ago the number 1 and 2 fan speeds do not work, yet 3 and 4 work fine. I wanted to ask what might me causing this? Faulty wiring, connections, or maybe a fuse even?

It's probably the fan speed resistor thing that needs replacing. You can find it underneath the black plastic shield, that runs accross the front of the windscreen where your windscreen wipers are. If you pull it back by the clips, you should find a little box of some sort under there toward the middle. The resistor will be in there

yeah agreed. check the resistor. VNs use some **** one that usually fails after a while, and you can get another from holden which is some updated version

ya its easy to do ...

same thing happened to me its ALWAYS the fuse/square box under the wiper blade shield..

if you pop the bonnet .. and look where the wiper blade motors are they are covered with a plastic shied anyhow there are clips that hold this on so CAREFULLY undo them or you crack the plastic as it fragile from old age ..

you will see a cube thing in centre well thats what you got to replace .. After doing this put it back on gently and I had to place a bead of silicone across it as I was getting a leak when raining all over the ecu ... if you notice water under glove box then you must seal the window & plastic cover.

When I needed aircon regas I asked them to do that as well they only charged me $50 to replace resistor.

But to be honest level 3 on aircon is fine and 4 is good to use when you first turn on aircon ...... 1 and 2 are **** .... so really dont bother mate ...
