hey guys
can i put a 70mm tb on my vn.v6.auto
if so wld it need to be tuned and can a garage do it
the standard v6 throttle body is 70mm and the 5lt is 75mm, if you choose to upgrade it you don't need to get it tuned because the engine adjusts fuel mixtures via manifold vacuum. What you will find is that you will need a aftermarket chip in your ecu to give it more fuel because of the more air. The best results of upgrading your throttle body comes with adding a larger cam and even a stoker kit. there is no point letting more air in if it cant be used.
A larger cam to go with your throttle body? Are you serious?![]()

the std v6 t/bs are not 70mm, and the v8's are not 75mm. i dont know where u got this from..
yes you CAN put the 70mm throttle body on, but its found to be a little touchy on the throttle for stop start driving, id go with the v8 throttle body. the gain on both is minimal, but just slightly better throttle response.
you do not need a cam to suit a throttle body. nor a chip.

lol what the?, v6 is 60mm and v8 is 65.....
and you wont need a tune but will need an aftermarket chip? what? huh?
lmao....
also the stock cam will still "use the air", but there is no point getting a 70mm because im pretty sure the elbow isn't even that big?
pretty much dont waste your moneylmao
Yeah, i dont know that i would do that unless it was free. The gains on the 5ltr are near 0 so i dont think it will have much effect on your v6.
Didn't you hear what Noddy said? You should get a bigger throttle body. Then you can cam it![]()

ok guys so will the v8 tb go on eazy n will i need chip for it
no chip needed, all the same. You might have to change over the throttle connections i think, but its the same t/b just 5mm bigger
V6 T/B 60mm, V8 T/B 65mm, Elbow 67mm. There will be most likely no gains a more touchy throttle, but on a bog stock engine no gains, i was thinking of getting a bigger throttle body again with my forced induction it might have some advantage.

This is thread of the dayI like it very much, there's zero gain on the throttles stock V6 or V8 but I left my 70mm on since it's shiny on the insides. I left it like that so the bugs and dirt flying past from my dirt intake can admire itself on the way into the engine
LOL @ mortons reply... hahahaha
ROFL @ morton...... i seriously lol'd
cant even give you repdamn sharing around crap lol
