bonnet gas struts for vn s1

hey i was wondering if anyone knew how easy it would be it fit gas struts from a later model (vn s2/vp) to my vn's bonnet. I spend way to much time under there to be propping it up with the oldschool bar all the time lol. I was at the wreckers the other day and was thinking about picking up a set but when i looked it appeared to have a welded on fitting for them, but i didnt really get to have a close look, coulda just been painted over where it joined.

In terms of working in the engine bay i found it a little more difficult as the gas struts get in the way more than the old school bar does. The gas struts are better though. Ive kept the bar for when i work in the bay so i can disconnect the struts if they get in the way.
