to adjust the kickdown you push in the grey D looking tab and move the cable shorter or longer. i forgot which way does wat but thats how to adjust it.

ps only move it in very small amounts, doesnt take much

this probably wont make acceleration any better and it definately wont give you more power. What it will do, if done correctly, is give you a better throttle respose when the throttle is applied suddenly or heavily as the gearbox will kick down quicker. If not done carefully you'll end up with the box kicking down at the wrong time or much more often than wanted resulting in a higher fuel bill. the ability for you to cruise in top gear, at low revs with little throttle being applied will be reduced as the gearbox will 'think' that there is more throttle being applied. just be careful and only adjust in very small amounts

Push the button and pull the cable back towards the drivers side , that will shorten the cable. Then jump in the car and with the motor off press the gas pedal to the floor and that will reset the kickdown cable the the correct position.

When you adjust the kickdown cable, aren't you supposed to "set" or tune each gear in by revving it... or something? maybe im making it up. my bad.
