from memory looking from front of the car to the back

left bank closest to you is 1,3,5
right bank closest to you is 2,4,6

not 100% on coil pack but i think that starts from the left 1 at the bottom 2 above it next one3 at the bottom 4 on top etc.,.,.

not sure if thats completely right there mate i'd have to go have a look, really cbb lol. i have a feeling you might have your left and right mixed up though.
easiest way to tell is if you look at the engine from the top down one of the banks is slightly closer to the front than the other. the cylinder closest to the front on this bank is 1, the it goes across to the front of the other bank which is two etc.
as for the coil pack, depending on which pack you have in there, it should be written on it which lead goes where

Just take a look at the inlet runners. When you're facing the car, the passenger side (right side) runner is clearly further forward. Therefore that is Cyl1

Cylinder one is allways on the drivers side (Left hand side for the American motors)

By left hand side, do you mean passenger side? Pick one reference point and stick to it!

left hand side, drivers side for americans passenger side for the cool people. Left hand side is left hand side no matter what country you are in ?? you've been awake either too long or not enough Mortus :P

It occurs to me now that the Americans do in fact have an opposite driving side, and now that I recognise this fact, your post makes SO much more sense.

    I digress

And then America realised that Americans couldn't drive in the snow, and FWD took the win. Didn't Cadillac release the Eldorado with a 500ci V8? Crazy stuff.

And by the time the mid 70's came around, that 500ci, 8.2ltr V8 was punching out a simply massive 190HP. No, that isn't a typo. If you paid extra for fuel injection, it would bring the power output up to a simply outrageous 215HP. Or around 160kw in the new money.. so not much more than an 3.8ltr ecotec V6.

    Wasn't the 500ci V8 a 400hp motor?

It was in 1970. By the time the anti-polution laws came in in 1976 it was down to less than 200hp.

Yea funny enough i read about this car not long ago. It put out the power of todays 6's and front wheel drive with the consumption of say the Voyager 1 spacecraft. America usually has it quite backwards in most cases. Give Ferrari a 1.4 Hyundai excel motor and they would pull 250hp from it while still N/A

Lol under 200 hp with an 8.2 litre V8. The Black 308's had anti pollution on them and they done better than that.
