he charged me 8 bucks for each spark plugs,a nd 50 bucks labour for the total of 6, and what another 100 buck, because his mechanic DIAGNOSE the problem. I could not believe what happened to their mentality, is that due to the financial crisis? I change the 6 plugs my self, 4.4 bucks from Auto 1. the car still the same, choking when I accelerate from 20 to 40. that is after I put brand new leads in. this week I will have my last try, the coil pack, that is most of the people here recon, if it failed I will say so long to the vn, I had some good time, but also heaps of trouble, I will start driving my Mazda.

got the car for less than 3.5 years and spent more than 3000 to fix it, could not remember how many day I have to send it to the garage, and how many times was ripped off by the local mechanics. this time I I have to say that's it.

bloody hell mate, thats expensive. Well, does it run on petrol? If yes does it choke and carry on with that as well?

Well test spark by getting a screwdriver and placing it into the end of the spark plug lead. Next place it on the car body and the just turn the car over (put ur LPG switch in between petrol and gas so no fuel is delivered). You will see the spark arc between the screw diver and the car.

Now i use this trick on my carby cars so im unsure wat will happen with an ECU car. I would wait for a second opinion in case doing this frys the ECU. But if alls good you will see a big fat blue spark and then you know that the coils are doing their job. Ive had this problem before and the car wouldnt start, checked the spark and it was orange and small = crap coil. Replaced it and VROOOOOOOO

thanks for your reply. yes, the car start beautifully on both gas and petrol. but all of a sudden, it back fire and choke on gas, when on petrol, it lost power and hesitate to go. funny it goes ok on a flat road but stuggle to go uphill. fuel pump?
