its just personal preference for most people... ive always prefered a stallied and kitted auto over a manual but most people screw up their faces and try tell me how much better a manual is
Going where no late model stato/caprice has gone before.... GAME ON!!

My previous car was a somewhat-modified Mazda HB 929 turbo, with a big clutch.. it wasn't great for peak-hour driving. An auto just makes more sense more of the time for me at present.
a shiftkit will help with the shifting problems voxbox

Yeah, i'm looking at that. I'd like to drive a car with one fitted so i can feel the difference, before i go ahead with it.
yeh its not for everyone... some people dont like the firm shifts

I'd much rather have firm shifts than clutch packs slipping away every time it changes gear..
I get bored driving auto's
I bought a conversion kit for my HZ, it came with a rego'd VN wagon attached :P (and fuel injection)

I'd love to convert mine, but just can't justify the funds right now (as I have already told you) but yeah one of those people that were "born" to drive a manual, as if was only my "first" car wasn't quite worried that the VP was auto
im hanging to get my vp converted but funds and the gf .......i am broke and she can only drive autos I cant wait till she buys a van
id love to have my vp manualised but cant afford to pay someone to do it - and not comfortable doin conversion myself - any perthies good at doin em lol
and a few drinks for afters![]()

It's actually a LOT of hard work for someone who's not too mechanically minded, or not too strongYou need a proper torque wrench for fitting the flywheel and pressure plate, you need a good understanding of a transmission and clutch for assembly of the bellhousing and clutch parts, and you need some fancy extenders and a good comperhensive set of spanners to get some of the tricky stuff apart.
But the most important thing you need, that a lot of people seem to be missing from their toolkit these days, is a big box of common sense.
Getting the manual box lined up to slide onto the motor, or lifting the T700 out, are very physically intensive for anybody without a good jack to help them out.
