there is always a place still here for you mate. You'll love thrashing the ford around but don't forget your roots! No reason to leave though, pop the head in and let us know how you are going. I no longer have the commodore either but i'm like a leach - i'm sticking around.

you could always pick up another donk from a wrecker and then see if you can blow that up too

depends on the carby. different carbies work in slightly different ways and they can be quiet an art form, especially these days because everybody is doing efi. some old school people will be good here

carbies need to be spec'd to suit the motor much more so then how you do efi setups. you need to know max revs and displacment. with this you can work out the CFM required. then get the carby that suits that. you need to decide either Vac secondary or mechanical secondary (double pumper). in my honest opinion, stay away from double pumpers unless it's a mostly weekend/race car and you have a high stall and gears to suit. you also need to decide on manifold design, signle plane or dual plane as this will also influence the powerband. a great book to read that covers carbies and intake manifolds well is 'carburators and intake manifolds' by David Vizard. covers different styles of carbies and how to tune em as well as intake manifold design

Talking thanks for the support guys

i had an interesting suggestion today make my own manifold and whack some su,s on it and run av gas or methanol im sure i can make the intake and i can get the su,s for nothing but the av gas or methanol would kill a standard engine wouldn't it if it will eventually kill it like over 12 months im not so worried i have a full running car for parts and yes its a hobby car weekend racing only like the cursed vp was
