Hi guys,
Im new to the forum so you'll have to bear with me. Just wondering, I have a VP HSV and got given a VN SS exhaust to put on it. I know the tail pipe will not fit as my VP is IRS and the VN is solid diff, But just wondering if anyone can tell me if the rest will fit up to my pacemaker extractors?
Cheers Quinzi
yes, but why bother, once the tailpipe is gone, your really only getting a quarter of the exhaust system, almost jsut easier to get a whole new exhaust system seing as youll be getting a new tailpipe made up anyway. my thoughts.
yeah true, My car has the stock HSV system on it and sounds like a vacume cleaner, just wanted to give it a decent note till i an afford to get a better system. What sounds the best on 5L 5 speed? single or twin? 2.5 or 3 in?
either single 3" or twins. Depends on how much you want to spend. Twins can sound more refined, and have a little more power - but cost more and weigh more. Single 3" is cheap, and sounds meaty.
I would suggest you sell the exhaust you were given, and buy a fitting exhuast for yours![]()

cheers dude, might do that hey. I like the more tough sound so i reckon i might go the single 3in hey. I wouldnt mind stainless but yet again, costly...anyway cheers for your help guys
thanks Quinzi
lets see what stelthy says about this
i've heard a single 3 inch and it was horrible, so personally i'm staying away from that. maybe it was just a bad system though. twin 2.5 is the way to go for good sound so i've heard, but is a bit tough on the pocket.
and morton, why the hell does mack have your car in his sig?!
Well, it goes like this:
WagonWheel made a sig with a pic of his car on a similar angle, and his name in italics. I mentioned that he had copied my sig (lol), and mack decided that he would be funny and ACTUALLY copy my siglol
That's the long and short of it.
A 3" system that you've heard, that doesn't sound good, is probably something to do with the mufflers that were on it. I have heard dozens of cars with the same length/diameter exhausts, and they ALL sound different.![]()

twin exhaust ftw...wheres stealthy for backup

It's good - but if you're looking to save money/effort and don't need that extra 5kw, then a single system plays a good second-fiddle.

cheers guys, gives me something to go on. I like the deeper note so i will probably go the single 3" system with highflow cat, single muffler. Any suggestions for mufflers guys? I had 2.5" stainless on my old VT Acclaim 6cyl with single muffler and highflow cat and that sounded tough, Loud but tough. Going from that to my VP clubsport with stock system, wasnt good hey.
How much roughly does it cost for a twin system? want to do it right the first time like others have said.
Im running a single 3inch "backyard special" on a stock 5l and while its at its potential once i get my cam, the twin 2 1/2inch system is a waste of time and money unless ur plannin on building a tough motor.......on a stocky it will only cause you to lose low down torque......
LMFAO!!!!
...............what you planning on doind to the motor mate......if its not much besides a CAI.....i would just go a 21/2inch single system.....
