knocking noise on startup
hey can anyone help i have this knocking noise from bellhousing area on startup and in drive underload not there all the time and car still drives ?
any ideas or has anyone had similar problem ...oh yeah replaced flexplate less than six months ago ..have had a few gear slips and failure to change back up when after mountain driving.....

Probably a loose bolt from when you intalled a new flex plate.
yeah maybe,sounds bad on startup five thumps then gone...
Are you sure it is coming from the bellhousing ? I had a similar prob with my old VN on start up and found it to be the harmonic balancer

yeah hi back again... what are the symptoms of a stuffed harmonic balancer ..is the noise there in all gears including neutral...sounds major on cold start to frightened to drive anywhere for an opinion Help please
oh yeah should there be any in / out movement when you apply a screwdriver behind..it sounds like it is comong out behind the airconditioner and or the bell housing ...took starter off and all seems to be still bolted on there help please
