hi all, here is were im at,ive got an 89 calais and i just bought the boss(wife&offspring)a vt wagon and killed it after 600ks(two shattered legs,CRACK in the block, sump full of piston skirts and gudgeon pins)
the shopping trolley has a new heart now and ive striped the old one(out of curiosity of course) and the short motor is un-salvageable, so now i have an ecotec top end with acc and box, loom, ecu . but appart from not having a short motor to bolt it too(cept 340000 worth of vn)im not commited to a full ecotec conversion, when i striped the inlet manifold to pinch the injectors i thought that it is shaped better than the 3800 unit and i was wondering if anyone knows of someone that has tried to whack it on a series 1 vn donk?
dont even bother...totally differnt. Water jackets are different etc.....i do belive you could put a series 2 buick inlet on with a bit of modification but deffinally not a ecotec one...sorry
what he said
yep, absolute no show, the ecotec has a 1" shorter deck height from the buck 3800 so the width of the manifold will be completly wrong for starters
