Default Are VN s2 lifters hydraulic?

The title is pretty much the question, my lifters are ticking and I need to know whether to bleed them or not

Yes they're hydraulic. not sure if bleebing will help. U can pull them apart and clean them then refill with oil and they should be all good

The problem with them is that they are ticking, and my VN is searching for idle a fair bit and I thought they might be related

When was the last time you did an oil change?

Is it ALL cylinders, or just one in particular?

Are you sure it's not just regular injector noise?

People are too obsessed with how much "power" their car makes....it doesn't make power, it produces torque, from which this mythical "power" figure is calculated.

Did you just top up the oil, or did you replace it?

Topped it up, but It had a service recently and they did that then. the oil was pretty low and I heard that causes the lifters to tick. The engine struggling with idle might be different

rolling idle would most likely be a vacuum leak of some sort. also try cleaning the IAC valve on the TB

yes they are, all the holden V6 engine use roller cams as did the last of the 5ltr 304's used in the VT s1's before they fitted the LS1's.

    Thumbs up Good quality oil

I brought a '91 VP wagon and it had done atleast 40,000 KLM'S without oil and filter change was planing on doing a service but drove it for a couple of days and one morning just started ticking like crazy(LIFTERS), so turned car off went down brought new filter and some good oil and bout 20 KLM"S later it stopped and i haven't heard a thing since she just tick over 206,000 KLM'S!!!
Maybe try a better quality oil?
