    Default Wiper Motor

upon bumping the wiper switch on my car i found that the wiper motors are either shot and or very loose. one doesnt work at all and the one that does slops all over the place, im just wondering if any one could shed some light on how to go about replacing the whole mechanism.

Hi I repalaced my wiper in my Vp with a Vr motor ,the plugs are a little different but are easily changed I cant remember exactly what I had to do as it was some time ago but I think I had to pop the terminals out of the vr plug and put them into a vp plug,Im telling you this just in case you end up with a vr unit ,as for removal you have to take the plastic strip of thats in front of the windscreen(clips just pry off) and you will see all of the bolts you have to undo its pretty basic ,but the motor bolts can be hard to get at
also it would pay to check wether the wiper bolts are just loose or a clip has come of because mine were loose and actually snapped in half

The whole wiper motor and linkages come out as a unit....First remove the wiper arms.. make sure to put the them back on the right side when reassembling...remove the black plastic cover in front of the windscreen..you will see the bolts that hold the assemebly in..5 if i remember right, then the whole unit comes out..its pretty straight forward changing the motor after that... it would pay to check the linkage connections, i had one side almost poped off when i removed mine..

i used the motor from a VT just fine. Therefore the motor from even later models up to VZ should also be fine. The wiper linkages and the like you will need from VN-VSIII.

Something I have always wondered? will the wiper arms from a VZ-VT fit a VN? I guess the windscreen is wider on VT but buy changing the wiper blade length I think it might be doable. then we can have nicer wiper arms

The washer nozzles from a new Subi Imprezza, a hyundai excell and a newish mazda 3 seem to look like they'd fit the factory hole in the VN-P bonnet too. The mazda3 nozzles have 4 jets per nozzle. The subi has a flat spray like the falcons. The hyundies excell has twin sprays per nozzle.
