Whats a good asking price?
well i have a 1988 VN Executive Commodore.
here are the mods.
- Metalic silver paint
- CD Player
- 6 x 9 Kenwood speakers in rear (Competition ones)
- Sports Steering Wheel
- Stainless steel air intake tube and pod filter (Not in picture)
- 17'' inch rims (VX Executive i think)
- Black seats covers with blue lining. (will get some pics and post up 2morro)

maybe 1500-2k and only if its roady'd and low KM, u can buy a VT S pack for 5K or a VR/VS Calais for 4k in mint conditon or a VN/VP Calais for 1500-2500 all with rego and roady'd

there isnt 2 grand in sellable mods there, id say look around the 3 mark if the paints real clean, which i cant tell by the tiny pictures.

she got 245,000 on the clock.. she is in running condition.. runs great. gets around 550kms to a tank. also has a 2.5 exhaust.

"running condition" could mean anything, my gearbox goes into reverse only when its cold, but its still running. its a 20 year old vn exec, dont aim too high, but dont aim too low. has it been resprayed or original paint? my sister picked up a vn exec, most of it resprayed, 16" wheels, full genuine ss kit, cat back system, few scratches, bit of rust, motor seems ok, for $700ish. theyre just not worth anything these days.

dude it was on trader for like 6 months with $3200 i think on it and i know you payed less than that its had an aftermarket paint job, it sounds pretty bad engine wise, its an old VN I'm not saying mines perfect. I'm realistic mines done 152,000km on gas lowered zorst cd player and speakers n shit new brakes the lot and id only ask $2000ono on mine max, with rego

Be realistic mate, ive seen 5L VP Calais go for $3000 around Adelaide and to be honest urs is another typical VN Exec on the road....
Youve done typical mods that are a waste of money and if anything id pay $1500 just for the fact it has decent paint!
To put you in the right frame of mind...think about ur car for a sec....its an exec, so crappy seats, manual windows and mirrors.....
Ive got a VN Calais V6 that i gave to my bro when i bought the VN Calais 5L i now own.......hes been offered by mates $1000 for it as the paint is faded, but it still has the feeatures of a 1988 VN Calais, A/C, calais interior, electrics, level 3 dash etc.....
VN's are worthless to the average buyer and unless its got a 5L or some major work done to it....ull end up gettin shit all for it....
Sorry if it seems im having a go at you, but im mearly bringing the harsh reality of the auto market to your mind!

i mean i picked up a vn calais 5l with a fair amount of new shit and engine work done for 5k and that was near 3 years ago

What most people here are missing, is the car is for sale in SA.
Our prices are higher than yours. Which is why i went to vic to get my car (cost 4500, would have cost 6500 if there was anything similar here)
We don't have roadys either, so thats shouldn't be taken into consideration.
Patrick, i think you'd be lucky if you got 2k, there just not worth much nowadays. The guy across the road as an immac white VN Exec (Formula) 5L with 3600 on it, and had no bites. Have a look at what other cars are for sale in SA, t get a rough idea if they're selling for what you want.
Also the mods = $0. they may get younger buyers interested, but people wont pay for it!
Get some better quality pics, if every side of the car is in good condition, you may just get 2000 flat, but if theres any blemishes, no-one will consider paying that for it.
