    Default VP BT1 5L - Differences ??

Hey guys, i am thinking about purchasing a VP BT1.
What i am wanting to know is what differences did they have compared to a standard exec etc.

It is a 92 model VP 5L BT1, it has a live axel, doesnt have the fe2 suspension but has lowered springs in it.

I think they came originally with SS interior but i do know that was changed before the person bought it.
He stated it says on the plate that it is a genuine BT1, and also check with vic roads , checked and theres no money owing on it and it isnt stolen which is good.

It has a stage 2 shift kit in it atm, with mini spool (will change) and 4.11's.
He said it has a hard shift to it.

Just wanting to find out what extra i should ask about it, some people have said they come with a 185chip, and a larger fuel tank, but cant find any main info on em.
    any help ?

    thanks

    Yup. Pretty much.

They had a bash plate on the sump... and they were thrashed. And that was about it.

You can do much better than the 185 chip anyway.

in terms of power would it have the same as a stock vn/vp 5ltr *hypothetically

See if you can have a chat with them and talk about how hard it goes, does it do sick burnouts ect.... and sorta try and lead them on to see if they been flogging it a bit. Its just the low diff ratios would make me nervouse the only reason for that low is for up hill racing or street racing. But see how ya go and check the dip stick to see if its had regular oil changes, you dont wanna 5ltr that hasnt had regular oil changes.

would you assume mini spool and 4.11's with a live axel that it was for drag or fun? and that it would be thrashed?
Just cause i have seen a lot of cars with IRS have the 4.11's well iv read anyways

4.11s and a spool = circles Lots of circles. Or drifting.

ahuh! spool in anything pretty much means burnouts....

Thought BT1s came standard with FE2 suspension, check the build plate man who cares what this guy says. It will say BT1 or another code on the build plate.
Dunno about the whole interior but they have SS seats and thats about all that matters really.

Yeah, but it's got 4.11s and a spool. Clearly it's been finkered with. I wouldn't be surprised of the sump bash plate was gone too.

I wouldn't concern myself about it may or may not have done some epic burnouts. You just have to assume all 5 litres have been there done that. The radiators blow up before the engine gets damaged anyway so that's a safety feature :P. The main thing is to shine a light in the oil cap, if it's all all clean and shiny in there you can go ahead and test drive it to see how it goes, if you see carbon and oil sludge all around then skip that one
