Build number 1 should be saved not wrecked, gotta be worth fixing up.
geez i hope it dosent get parted out... looks pretty sweet
dont sweat the petty... pet the sweaty...
Even though that LE wagon is build No 1, there's a highly likely chance it's not the first 1st LE wagon to be built.
I've recorded several the VIN numbers (with the help from 88GreenVN) from HSV LE wagons and numbers are quite random.

no not mine. i would not wish that upon anybody. why didnt that shit lazer next to it catch on fire
My VP met the same fate
Who was looking for VN SS group A stuff? I have heaps of HSV specs for VN and VPs now back at dad's including twin throttle body work shop manuals etc. here's a tease if you want more go on ebay and buy the VN HSV book pictured.
I also found this interesting it list prices for the 5th ann Sports wagon having V6 manual, V6 auto, V8 manual and V8 auto even tho there was only 5 made so who who ever was saying the manual was rare didn't know that
Also there's a genuine black VN SS group A Bathurst giveaway car for sale in unique cars for $110,00 1 of 2 cars in black I would assume it will end at on display
Keep in mind the list price is printed before they're built, so just cause it was an option for all those combo's, doesn't mean anyone ordered them
For anyone who didn't know, they were genuine VN Group A's and still have the normal Durrif red paint code (on the compliance plate), since they were resprayed by a dealer, not from factory.

6H8VNK19DKT103587
The DKT103587 part is interesting
D -Possibly originally a Four banger?
K -Built between 9/88 and 8/89 (Maybe VNGreen should shed some light)
T -Assembly plant: Unknown
103587 -The number is also a mystery, the Sequential number on Aussie VNs runs from 292000 to 531000.
Can anyone or some of our New Zealand friends shed some light on the differences, maybe Exports has a different VIN system?

Did you see the 'low volume vehicle certification plate'
Maybe its just a test mule?

The VIN is for the knock down kits sent over seas for the VN's. That's T in the line. K is the first of the VN's from memory. The June pre production VN's got the J.
Search the disk I sent and you will find a NZ Commodore the HKT100211 serial number. The photo of the VIN plate is in the sn folder. VN_T100211.jpg.

Hey mate. Call up HSV and they'll be able to tell you exactly what was 'enhanced' by them, they keep records of all their vins.
They may want you to pay, so keep that in mind if they say no over the phone. Personally i'd go into your nearest HSV dealer with the car and proof of ownership and they should do it for free for you if you find a nice salesperson.
