bonnet stuck

hey guys i just brought a project car to play with (88 vn calais) any way the guy told me he had disconnected the bonnet release cable.Now here is the problem the tow truck drive closed the bonnet all the way>>>>>>>>not happy

so can anyone help me how do i popp the bonnet

if the front grille is out you could get in there with a screw driver and have a fiddle around. ive seen a mate do it but wasnt paying much attention as to how he did it.
